Join us in a conversation with Ahmad Hammouda, Thndr’s Cofounder and CEO, as we unravel the story behind Rumble’s launch. Expect insights on how Rumble plans to revolutionize investment recommendations, empower investors, and democratize access to financial expertise.
Claps: Ahmad, everyone is talking about Rumble these days! Can you share the backstory behind this exciting development?
Hammouda: Our vision has always aimed at democratizing investing for all. It’s the best way for individuals to build and grow their wealth and a key driver for local economic growth. To translate this vision into reality, we first focused on democratizing access to investing—this is Thndr’s mission.
However, to truly democratize access to investing, we must also democratize access to information. This way we can empower everyone with the tools and insights they need to make smart investment decisions.
Naturally, our next step here was to acquire a research license that could help us expand our range of services beyond brokerage, providing expert investment recommendations through our newly established sister brand, Rumble.
Think of Thndr and Rumble as two sides of the same coin that unlocks smart, convenient, and confident investing.
C: What makes Rumble stand out?
H: Rumble stands out in the investment research field by revolutionizing both the content and delivery of its services. Our approach involves a clear separation of research and brokerage brands, redefining investment research from a traditional cost center into a dynamic, independent entity.
This shift allows us to provide high-quality information that was previously hard to access, presented in a user-friendly format. We ensure that our operations are free from conflicts of interest, upholding the integrity and reliability of our recommendations.
Our commitment at Rumble is to empower investors with transparent, unbiased insights, contributing to a more informed and confident investment community. And our primary focus is to generate alpha returns for all Rumble subscribers.
C: Tell us about the team behind Rumble’s recommendations and the expertise they bring to the table.
H: Absolutely! Rumble’s Investment Committee is led by some of the best minds in the Egyptian market. Under the guidance of Amr Hussein Elalfy, CFA, the Head of Fundamental Research; and Ahmed Elhefnawi, Head of Technical Analysis — Rumble is positioned to provide unparalleled investment guidance.
Amr Hussein Elalfy, CFA, contributes over 25 years of experience, including leadership roles at prominent local and regional financial institutions. Currently holding a board position at CFA Society Egypt, Elalfy combines extensive academic knowledge with practical expertise in finance and investment.
Ahmed Elhefnawi brings more than two decades of diverse experience and a distinctive perspective to Rumble, encompassing high-stakes trading and asset management roles at well-known firms such as Beltone Asset Management and EFG Hermes. Notably, Elhefnawi has recently taken on pioneering roles in Egypt’s digital gold investment sector.
Since its soft launch in mid-July 2023, Rumble’s fundamental recommendations have consistently outperformed the market, boasting an average performance exceeding 15%. That’s almost twice as much as the performance of the EGX30 Capped index.
Meanwhile, our technical recommendations’ hit ratio exceeded 90% in January, which is well above our target of 70%.
C: Does Rumble plan to expand its impact beyond Egypt?
H: Currently, we’re inviting everyone in Egypt to explore Rumble. Our goal is to transform the investment landscape in Egypt, but you’ll have to stay tuned for our expansion plans.
