Global energy giant “Aramco” (2222) plans to fund research at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology “KAUST,” with a USD 100 million financing package.

Aramco has signed a memorandum of understanding with KAUST to support “advanced developmental research” aimed at ensuring environmental and commercial value.

The “anticipated collaboration” between the two parties aims to develop commercially viable solutions to enhance energy transition and sustainability goals.

Aramco will allocate its funding to research and development projects with KAUST over the next ten years. 

These research projects aim to “accelerate the pace of innovation” in the Kingdom and address some of the major local and global challenges.
