Mobile Telecommunication Company “Zain KSA” (7030) has decided to allocate 1.6 billion riyals to expand its 5G network as part of its strategy to achieve “digital inclusivity” across the Kingdom.
Additionally, it aims to provide an advanced digital infrastructure that offers the best customer experience.
Details
Zain’s investments are part of an integrated plan to expand its infrastructure, 5G network, and digital services ecosystem.
This aims to have a “direct impact” on its 5G network coverage, extending from covering 66 cities currently to 122 cities and provinces around the Kingdom, including Mecca and the holy sites.
This will make the company the “first telecommunications operator” to fully cover the holy sites with 5G technology through all its towers.
So What
The “new expansion plan” aims to:
– Cover more than 66% of populated areas in the Kingdom with 5G services and solutions.
– Enhance Zain KSA’s leadership in the next generation of technologies.
– Support advanced 5G technologies to increase network capacity and provide higher speeds with minimal latency.
Some Context
The company’s CEO, Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither, stated that the “significant investment” is an extension of their approach to leveraging the best technological capabilities to serve their community.
This comes after launching the “largest 5G network” in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, and the third-largest globally.
He added that this aligns with Zain’s strategy to employ the latest technologies to enable a truly sustainable digital transformation.
Now What
Through its strategic investments, Zain aims to contribute to enhancing the digital capacity of the “Guests of God Service Program.”
Additionally, it seeks to reach 30 million pilgrims by 2030.
