Telecom Egypt appointed Raya Information Technology (Raya IT) to develop the second phase of its data center project, the Regional Data Hub (RDH).
What
Raya IT (subsidiary of Raya Holding) will provide a range of services including data center design and planning, data center construction, power infrastructure, cooling solutions, physical security, fire suppression systems, and rack and cabinet installation.
They will also help to acquire the Uptime Institute Tier III Certification in Design, Constructed Facility, and Operational Sustainability for this second phase.
So What
The first phase of the RDH was a massive success, reaching full utilization within one year. The data center allows for enhanced regional connectivity and enables a more robust network infrastructure.
Now What
The second phase will see RDH boast a capacity of up to 7.1 MW load. Future plans involve 2 more phases to reach a up to 16.3MW IT load.
