July 23, 2025: Bonyan’s first trading day

What: The real estate portfolio of Bonyan, which started its first day on the stock exchange yesterday (BONY), rose to EGP 16.6 billion in the first quarter of this year, compared to around EGP 16 billion at the end of 2024.
So What: In an interview with Al Arabiya Business, Tarek Abdelrahman, the company’s Managing Director, explained that Bonyan’s net profit dropped by around 27% YoY in the first three months of 2025 to EGP 417 million, due to halting the sale of commercial units in their “Walk Cairo” project and the costs related to their public offering.
Now What: In a discussion with Asharq Business, Abdelrahman revealed that Bonyan is close to acquiring an office building in East Cairo, with an investment cost ranging between EGP 700 million and EGP 1 billion. The company is also planning to close one or two more deals before the end of the year.

What: The board of directors of Edita Food Industries (EFID) has decided to buy more than 14 million treasury shares (share buyback), which will not exceed 1% of the company’s total shares. The purchase will take place through the open market over the next month.
So What: Edita stated that the buyback, which will be funded from its own resources, is a sign of the company’s “confidence” in the performance of its stock. The goal is to support the share price, with expectations for “strong investment rates” once the current situation stabilizes.
Now What: Edita announced plans to cancel its Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) listed on the London Stock Exchange, as the program is considered “inactive,” according to Menna Shams El-Din, Head of Investment and Corporate Affairs at Edita, in a statement to Zawya Arabic.
Claps Class: Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) are financial instruments issued by international banks that represent shares of a specific company. These receipts are traded on foreign markets, outside the company’s home market. They aim to attract international investments without requiring a direct listing on another stock exchange.

What: Arabian Cement Company (ARCC) plans to buy more than 15 million treasury shares from the open market until August 22, not exceeding 4% of its total share capital.
So What: The board aims to support the share price in the market and increase its value for shareholders.
Now What: The buyback program will be funded from the company’s cash flows.

What: The board of directors of Macro Pharmaceuticals (MCRO) will present a proposal to the extraordinary general assembly to increase the company’s issued capital from about EGP 114 million to EGP 684 million.

The increase will be funded through a cash subscription, inviting existing shareholders to subscribe to the new shares, with the issuance of 2.85 billion shares priced at 20 piasters per share, along with trading the subscription rights separately from the original shares.

In addition, the company plans to raise its authorized capital from EGP 575 million to around EGP 7 billion.
So What: The capital increase will help finance “Macro Capital’s” future projects and expansions, as well as enhance the company’s financial liquidity.
Now What: The subscription will be launched soon, pending approval from the extraordinary general assembly.
