The Clap:
Egypt’s first Tribute Portfolio hotel will open in Sheikh Zayed in 2027 following an agreement between its owner Marriott International and EGX-listed developer SODIC. Tribute has a portfolio comprising 120 hotels across more than 25 countries and territories.
The details:
The planned hotel will have a 170-room capacity and will be located at Forty West, part of SODIC West in Sheikh Zayed.
More to come in Sahel:
Another 180-key hotel is slated to open its doors in SODIC’s North Coast development in June of 2029.
In line with the state’s tourism rejuvenation strategy:
Cabinet wants the private sector to build at least 200,000 new hotel rooms to help attract up to 30 million tourists annually by 2028, and is reportedly planning to offer a subsidized loans program catering to both local and foreign hospitality investors to realize their target.
