What
EGX-listed Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (SIDPEC), as well as The Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO), and Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) plan to increase their imports of ethane gas to increase their production capacity before 2028, a government official told Asharq Business.

The goal of the increase in ethane gas imports is to achieve maximum production capacity., said the same source.
Some Context
Currently, EGX-listed SIDPEC operates at 90% of its production capacity and ETHYDCO operates at 85%. GASCO provides 400K tons of ethane gas annually which represents 80% of petrochemical factories’ raw material needs for ethylene production and its derivatives.
