It’s raining major aluminum updates in Egypt — from fresh factories to plans to power Egyptalum with solar energy, here’s a quick roundup.
Update #1:
UAE-based Emirates Global Aluminium and Egypt’s Public Enterprise Ministry will partner up to build an aluminum factory in Northern Egypt, worth USD 3 billion.
- Now What: The new factory is expected to produce 600K tons
Update #2:
Another factory might be in the pipeline. The government is in talks with Aluminium Bahrain to launch a new bauxite factory in Ras Ghareb, according to Enterprise.
- Claps Class: Bauxite is an ore from which aluminium is produced.
Update #3:
The Public Enterprise Ministry is also in talks with an Indian company to supply Egyptalum with energy by establishing a solar power plant.
- Why: In an attempt to boost Egyptalum’s exports
